J.D. Abouchar

J.D. Abouchar is an independent consultant to GRT Capital Partners, LLC and is the portfolio manager for the GRT Technology strategy. Mr. Abouchar has been involved with investment management and research since 1996 and was a member of the Chicago Board of Options Exchange from 1985 to 1990.

Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Mr. Abouchar was a senior analyst for a long/short Technology hedge fund at Pacific Edge Investment Management from 2000-2006.

From 1998 through 2000, Mr. Abouchar was a senior equity analyst for Preferred Capital Markets, Inc. The Reuters U.S. Mid to Smaller Company Survey ranked Mr. Abouchar as one of the top five electronics analyst for that same time period.

From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Abouchar was a senior vice-president and technology analyst for L.H. Friend, Weinress, Frankson & Presson, Inc.

Mr. Abouchar is a seasoned options trader, having previously managed a multimillion dollar options portfolio. He was a founding member of Summit Securities, Inc.

In addition to his investment management experience, Mr. Abouchar also served as the head of operations for Unit Design, Inc., an electronics capital equipment company. Mr. Abouchar was responsible for the research, design, development, testing, and introduction of six new computer controlled products for the electronics and water treatment industries.

Mr. Abouchar holds a BS degree in Economics from the Wharton School , University of Pennsylvania (’83).  Mr. Abouchar is a director of InFocus Corporation.
